1st Grade Out of Uniform Days (for 50 cents)
All other days are uniform days for grades 1-8. The uniform is blue or black pants/skirt and baby blue or white shirt. Pants must be slacks- not jeans or sweatpants. Gym days are Mondays. Children should wear the gym uniform (t-shirt and sweatpants). Durkin Park or plain blue sweatshirts can be worn over clothes in cool weather. Closed toe shoes should be worn everyday- no flip flops, sandals or crocks.
Reading homework will be sent home in a packet on Monday. Students will have Reading, Spelling, Sight Words, and Writing homework in this packet.
1. Word list- Each week students will have a spelling list to study. The spelling words will be 7-10 words using a spelling pattern taught in class.
2. Sight Words Students DO NOT HAVE TO SPELL THESE WORDS. The words are from Reading Street and Dr. Fry's most common words in reading. Learning to read these words quickly, or by sight, will help your child as they learn to read more difficult books.
3. Math- There will be a math practice sheet every night.
Personal Electronics Policy:
Cell Phones, phone watches, tablets, or other electronics are not allowed in class. If your child must bring a phone to school for family reasons, please send a note. I will keep the phone locked up until the end of the day.
*Please be aware that we keep our backpacks in the hall. They are unattended the majority of the day.
